I’ve been scant with posting because of a change of my employment status and I’m also going to blame NaNoWriMo because I’ve had to prioritize my other writing this month.
However, the change of employment status (i.e., from a shoddy income to none at all) did not change my full-tilt shopping trip in the wee hours of Black Friday morning. It really was the crowds that were discouraging and display tables in complete disarray.
But who cares about what I actually bought – cute Roxy flats, cute shirts from J.Crew, cute sweater from Abercrombie, cute coat from American Eagle – because I dream of bigger things when I get a job that pays anything at all.

I also purchased recently – just because terminating my position makes me shop-happy?! – two pieces of Skyway luggage ($97 thanks to 60% discounts), “100% Cashmere” sweater from Old Navy down from $80 to $55 in post-Thanksgiving sales, and new $70 loafers from Aldo simply because I got tired of my other shoes. Ugh.
