Falling for this season’s metallics

1 06 2008

Are metallics in this season? I can’t remember. But they are catching my eye for the first time in 8 or 10 years. I thought I had grown up and left them behind… but they sucked me back in!

I try to shop at Spring because most of their summer shoes are reasonably price at $39.99. As it happens all three of the following shoes are that price.

Bishops sandal in silver
Actually a relative returned from Asia with a huge score of shoes and accessories and I scored gold flip-flops in this style. Yeah, I’m stoked that I have such “fashionable” shoes in a colour that regular Spring shoppers cannot attain!

Nataly sandals in silver
I wouldn’t normally look for sandals of this size. They remind me uncomfortably of the ’90s when I wore (sedated) clubbing wear to school. But I’m wearing a sky blue dress as a bridesmaid and I figured my shoe colour choices were narrow, including the exact shade of blue or “neutrals” like metallics or those transparent Cinderella shoes. Maybe I’ll keep my eyes peeled for transparent shoes.
The heel on this sandal is not too thick so I won’t be sinking in grass immediately and it may not be too uncomfortable or wobbly.

Huaqillas sandals in gold
I’m not sure how comfortable the wiry mesh is after even just five minutes. However, there is this vibe about the shoe that would look cute with dark jeans. I haven’t had a low-heel sandal to kick about with everything. I don’t own anything peep-toe and I think the mesh camouflages my bunion. Unless it’s royally uncomfortable, I would get more wear and enjoy these shoes more then the silver strapppy sandals.
