House Wishes
* An air purifier ($80-200?) – it seems to be one of those things of “getting old” where I’m just not quite as immune to everything as I once was.
* A PVR ($100?) followed by a monthly ($25) Bell ExpressVu subscription. Being in Lotusland and so detached from the rest of the country, I love catching what’s going on in local programming in the other major cities.
* A jewelry box ($75-100) – my nice and crummy jewelry mingle and get tangled up in petri dishes and a low-grade Asian brocade box.
* More plants and pretty pots for them (pretty cheap) – I want a topiary and gebera daisy!
* A “mahogany” table for near the door where you drop off keys and wallets.
* A mattress pad. Supposedly it will turn whatever mattress I’m using into a dream?
* Mature and luxurious duvet set. (Got an Alfred Sung black watch set from Zellers for mucho money late 2008/early 2009 but haven’t used it by late 2009 because my bed’s too low. :S)
* Fabreze “odour-eliminating” candles – at $7-8 per candle (burn time of 30 hours), they are quite a bit more expensive than my Ikea tealights!
* Another side table from IKEA – a matching Liden that I’ve been holding off thus far because it’s $39.99 cf. those $19.99 Lack side tables I should have started with. Finally got that coffee table after receiving a giftcard to IKEA for my birthday. I’m also getting a footstool that will turn my couch into a “sectional”!
* Body composition digital scale ($80-100) – you know, tempered class, digital readout of your body’s stats. I’m addicted to weighing myself and being accountable. The Boy agreed to buy this because he knows where to get a discount. It will be ours but reside at my house!
Technology and Automotive Wishes
* Join the Co-op – A $500 deposit for access to a pay-per-use car. It would start to even out the responsibilities that have been completely on The Boy’s side. Joined in May 2009.
* MP3 WAV editor – I’ve been using one that has 20 free uses and the license costs only $29.99. I’m not interested in making my own ringtones any longer.
* A new camera. Mine’s dying and it’s too big and it has many aggravating shortcomings. The Boy bought me a camera, when I had picked out the model and colour, as an anniversary gift in 2008!
Clothing and Personal Wishes
* A wristlet that I will keep for years to come. Bought a Coach wristlet in June 2009.
* Regular hair appointments (like once a month) – I’m sensible and go to a place that is just $12/haircut.
* Lucky Brand Jeans – I had to refrain from the $88 Lil’ Maggie pair that I saw; it’s a fair price if they are good jeans.
* Buy those Moulann Chang tracks that I can’t find in P2P downloads – they are just $0.99 each!
* Start using my little jar of Oil of Olay Regenerist lotion (~$30) and be willing to buy more!
* Nude pumps. Bone-coloured pointed-toe slingbacks. My champagne coloured stilettos are not very practical. Saw a pair at Town Shoes for $145. Eep.
* A good pair of black knee-high boots. With my naturally “gifted” calves, it’s difficult to find a pair. Lil’ Sis gave me two pairs when I was back home for Christmas 2008. Although they are not the exact style my “trendy” self would go for, they are good quality and I can’t buy any for myself.
* A bling-bling purse. I see a bling brand named Kathy van Zeeland at Winners. I’ll pick one up at the right price. Found one for $39.99 at Marshalls during a shopping trip “stateside”.
* Change my mobility plan to add more flexibility and be willing to have a base plan rate of ~$40. Got it. Base rate is $54.
* A gym membership – face it, I’ve lost a lot of discipline that I might regain if I’m paying every single day for it (~$47/mo.) Too cheap to have this monthly “utility” no matter what my payscale goes up to.
* A ring. I seem to have lost the 5-diamond ring with a perfectly slender band that an old boyfriend bought me as a promise ring. I guess that is fitting. Perhaps I’ll go for something with my birthstone. Or one of those fabulous-looking eternity bands. Obviously the former can be purchased at a jewelry store while the latter would have to be crystals or cubic zirconia and not diamonds! I found my ring – whew! – so no need for another one.
* Shampoo that never goes on sale for $2… like Dove and Garnier Fructis. I’m coveting Lil’ Sis’ Dove Exfoliating Cleanser and Foaming Cleanser. I have to use much more budget choices like Noxzema. I have no brand loyalty. I’ll buy whatever is $2-2.50 per 400-mL bottle!
I’ll keep adding when I think of things….
